My Computing History
  1. Dell latitude D630 This was my first ever laptop running Windows 7. I barely used it, but it was my first experience with a personal computer. I tried installing Minecraft on it and then it got a virus and was usless after that since I didn’t know how to fix it. I was maybe 12?

  2. Apple Mac Mini (2014?) Shortly after I got a used Mac Mini. This one I used a bit more playing around with some settings and small games.

  3. Thinkpad t450s I got this one used in 8th grade and it was the entry point to computing for me. It had Windows 7 first which stopped booting. A friend of mine installed Ubuntu on it and after that I was hooked. I ran Arch Linux with dwm on this for around 3 years.

  4. Raspberry Pi 4 Model B Bought this as a little toy to play with and build small projects with as well as having a small self hosted home lab where I had a website and a NAS for a bit.

  5. Dell Core 2 Duo Tower This was my parents old home PC which they gave to me when they got a new one. I used it as a home lab for a bit, but then just pulled some parts out of it and didn’t use it much after that.

  6. Custom Build i3-12th gen, GTX 1660ti I wanted to build my own computer and I wanted one with a GPU so I could occasionally play games. The building was super fun. I gamed on maybe 10 times and haven’t used it as much since. Still a cool build though.

  7. Thinkpad t14s gen 3 Got this brand new the summer before starting university. It’s a very nice laptop. AMD Ryzen 7 pro, 32G ram, 2TB storage. Ran arch on it for a bit, but now have just been running Ubuntu on it for about a year. I just wanted a system that worked.

  8. Apple Macbook Air (M3) I got persuaded by the hype. I wanted to see how good apples new chips actually were. Spoiler: they’re absolutely amazing. No fan, runs cool, 2 day battery life (no joke), extreme speed and efficiency. Mac os isn’t even that bad. It’s the best computer I’ve ever used by a long shot.
